The Broadcast Education Association Announces the 2010 Winners of BEA Best of Festival King Foundation Awards Ceremony

Washington, D.C. – Sixteen faculty and students received Best of Festival Awards at the 8th Annual BEA Best of Festival King Foundation Awards Ceremony for their creative works in the following categories: audio, video, documentary, interactive multimedia, news, scriptwriting, two-year and small colleges, and sports.  The ceremony took place at BEA’s annual convention in Las Vegas on Friday, April 16.

This year two Best of Festival winners received Chair’s Awards for their overall excellence.  The Faculty Chair’s Award was given to Dean Yamada, Biola University, for his entry Jitensha (The Bicycle), which was submitted to the Faculty Video Competition: Mixed Category.  Dave Dorsey, Florida State University received the Student Chair’s Award for his entry Inner Demon, which was submitted to the Student Video Competition: Animation Category.

The BEA Festival of Media Arts is an international refereed exhibition of faculty creative activities and a national showcase for student work. The Festival provides a venue for exhibition of winning submissions, including recognition of project authors, through showcase and awards sessions held during the annual convention of Broadcast Education Association (BEA) in Las Vegas. The Festival seeks to enhance and extend creative activities, teaching, and professional standards in broadcasting and other forms of electronically mediated communication.
