
Award description
The ITA highlights an individual’s ability to showcase innovation in their pedagogy. Faculty must be within their first 10 years of postsecondary employment. Successful awardees will stand out as a media educator with their teaching style and assignments will demonstrate that their courses are not just lecture-based. The innovative educator brings the joy of learning into the classroom – or wherever the learning takes place. Nominations and self-nominations are welcome.
Eligibility
- An applicant must be a current BEA member or institutional member.
- An applicant must be a full-time faculty member.
- An applicant must be within their first 10 years of postsecondary employment as a faculty member.
- NOTE: Current board members are not eligible.
Timeline
September 1: Nominations open
December 31: Nominations close at 11:59 pm ET
February : ITA winner announced
April: ITA winner recognized during the Opening Awards Ceremony at the BEA Annual Convention
