Innovation in Teaching Award (ITA)

Selection process

The BEA president will appoint an award selection committee consisting of faculty to evaluate the nomination packages. The committee with include the CAA chair, IMET chair and a board member.

The Selection Committee will review the nomination packages and based on the award criteria they will make a recommendation that will be shared with BEA’s executive committee for approval.

The chair of the committee will notify the NFRG recipient and all individuals who applied by February 15.

Selection criteria

  • How was the nominee’s innovative teaching inspiring for students and others such as campus colleagues? Industry? A larger community?
  • The extent to which there’s innovation in individual’s pedagogy.
  • The extent to which there’s innovation in the assignments.
  • Strength of the letters of support.
