APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 15, 2026

The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) is proud to announce the availability of up to four grants, each valued at $2,500, to assist radio and television broadcasting companies as well as non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving broadcast history. These grants are intended to help safeguard materials and make them freely accessible to researchers, educators, and the public.

Organizations seeking funding must submit proposals that include:

  • A description of the records or materials to be preserved;

  • The preservation method(s) to be used (e.g., digitization, reproduction) and estimated costs;

  • Information on how, when, and where the materials will be housed and made available for public and academic research at no cost.

Applications will be evaluated by a five-member LABF selection panel composed of members of the LABF Board of Directors. The panel brings together a diverse range of expertise spanning broadcasting, preservation, academia, and media history.

Proposals will be assessed based on historical significance, preservation methodology, accessibility, and overall impact. The goal is to support projects that not only safeguard important broadcast materials but also ensure they remain freely accessible for generations to come.

Following the application deadline, the panel will conduct a four-week review process beginning January 15, 2026. Selected submissions will be presented by the panel to the Executive Committee for final approval.

Grant recipients will be publicly announced via press release and honored as LABF Preservation Ambassadors on www.tvradiolibrary.org. In addition, they will be recognized on-site at a future Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts event, in celebration of their contributions to broadcast preservation.
