Term: Fall 2025 – April 2028 (planning the Best of Festival in 2026, 2027 & 2028)
BEA seeks applicants for a Festival of Media Arts Creative Director to produce and manage BEA’s “Best of” Festival Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas.
Specific duties will include:
- Create a vision for the 2026, 2027 and 2028 “Best of” Festival.
- Develop a team of students to produce the event. Students can include: editors, producers and writers.
- Manage the team of students to contact Festival winners and gather content packages (approximately 18-19 packages per year).
- Produce the on-site awards ceremony in Las Vegas each April.
BEA will provide:
- A travel stipend for the Creative Director and the student production team.
- Complimentary convention registrations for all individuals involved.
- Stipends for the Creative Director and the student team members (stipends can be discussed with Heather Birks, BEA’s executive director, before applying. The amount will depend on the size of the student team.)
- Continued support from the BEA staff, Chair of the Festival of Media Arts, past creative directors and the Festival Advisory Committee. Interested applicants should submit the following to :
- a letter expressing their interest in, ability and qualifications for the position. – a comprehensive resume or CV.
The Creative Director will be appointed for a three-year term. The term will officially begin in Fall 2025 and will conclude with the 2028 Best of Festival Awards in April 2028. The ideal candidate(s) will be available to observe the 2025 Best of Festival Awards on Monday, April 7, 2025. The position is open to individual BEA members who are full time university faculty.
