BEA Scholarships – FAQs

As the premier international academic media organization, BEA is proud to administer annual scholarships that honor broadcasters and the electronic media profession. These awards support students pursuing excellence in media production, research, and education.

Who Can Apply?

  • Students who will be juniors, seniors, or graduate students at BEA member institutions when scholarships are distributed.
  • Create a profile: Before you begin the application, you must create a profile with BEA.
  • Complimentary Membership: All full-time undergraduate students attending BEA institutional members receive complimentary membership.  If you need a complimentary code, please see your faculty advisor or email help@BEAweb.org.
  • BEA membership has benefits:
    • All full-time undergraduates at BEA member schools receive complimentary membership.
    • Scholarship recipients also receive free membership in AERho, BEA’s Honor Society.

Application Process

  1. Create a BEA Profile
    • Before starting your application, you must set up a BEA account.
  2. Membership Codes
    • Undergraduates at BEA institutional member schools: ask your faculty advisor or email help@BEAweb.org for your complimentary membership code.
    • Graduate students: email help@BEAweb.org to check if your school includes graduate membership.
  3. Submit ONE Application
    • You’ll automatically be considered for all scholarships you’re eligible for.

Timeline

  • Application Deadline: October 16, 2025
  • Recipients Announced: Late November 2025
  • Funds Awarded: Summer 2026 (applied to the 2026–2027 academic year)

Quick Reminders

  • You don’t need to choose a specific scholarship—BEA does that for you.
  • Scholarships range from $1,000–$4,000.
  • Winners also get complimentary AERho membership.
