Students - Unlock Your Potential with BEA

Join a community dedicated to nurturing the next generation of media professionals through innovative education and unparalleled opportunities.

Taken together, these opportunities turn BEA student membership into a launchpad—recognizing excellence, amplifying creative work, funding advancement, and connecting you directly with the people and knowledge that move today’s media industry.

Create, compete, get noticed

Once you’re a member, your work can travel far. The Festival of Media Arts—BEA’s flagship creative showcase—attracts more than 2,000 student and faculty entries from 300+ schools worldwide, with winners screened and celebrated in Las Vegas each April. BEA Chapters battle the clock in exclusive 48-Hour Collegiate Media Chapter Competitions that challenge teams to script, shoot and deliver a film or audio doc in a single weekend. If you run a campus radio or TV outlet, the Signature Station Awards honor stations whose programming, branding and community engagement set the national benchmark.

Stand out on campus and beyond

BEA student membership comes with built-in communities that help you distinguish yourself early. The AERho Honor Society recognizes the top third of electronic-media majors who combine a 3.3+ GPA with proven creative leadership, conferring lifetime membership, initiation at the BEA convention and the right to wear its gold cords at graduation.

On your own turf, Collegiate Media Chapters turn a cohort of six or more classmates into an officially chartered club that delivers additional benefits.

Network where the industry meets academia

Student members get discounted access to #BEAvegas, a four-day convention co-located with NAB that mixes over 250 sessions with a dedicated student track, career fair and hands-on tech training. Through the RAB Student Scholars Program, select undergrads and grads receive travel support and small-group meetings with radio executives during the show. Year-round Networking Nights extend those contacts in a relaxed, small-group format that has already led students to job offers.
