BEA ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

At the November 2011 Broadcast Education Association Board Meeting, a new executive committee was elected to serve the BEA membership.  The terms for the newly elected executive committee members will begin at BEA2012 in Las Vegas this April.  Please join me in congratulating to the new executive officers as well as the nominees who ran in this year’s election.

President — Greg Newton, Ohio University
Vice President for Academic Relations — Mary Schaffer, California State University – Northridge
Vice President for Industry Relations — Ric Harris, Manager, Accenture
Secretary-Treasurer – Barry Umansky, Ball State University
Immediate Past President – Sam Sauls, University of North Texas

In April 2012, Max Utsler, University of Kansas will be rotating off the board as Immediate Past President.

BEA’s executive committee will begin their term along with the following District Representatives that were elected in October:

District 2 — Augie Grant, University of South Carolina
Alabama Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee

District 4 — Patricia Williamson, Central Michigan University
Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin

District 6 — Greg Luft, Colorado State University
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming

District 8 — Deborah Wilson, University of Lincoln
