Grants must fund traditional academic research related to broadcasting, electronic media, or mass communication.
Grants will fund direct costs only (no indirect cost overhead) or researcher stipends.
Recipients must be a BEA individual member to receive a grant (although non-members may apply).
Grant funds will be paid to the recipients after recognition at BEA’s annual convention in April.
The selection committee will be encouraged to give at least one award per year to a graduate student.
Grant recipients will be required to: (a) present their research at a special session during the BEA Annual Convention in Las Vegas in the year FOLLOWING the award of the grant (ie. researchers receiving a grant in winter/spring of 2025 will present their research in April 2026) (b) provide a one-page summary of how the funds were expended by January 15 in the year FOLLOWING the award of their grant.
