Innovation in Teaching Award (ITA)

Application Process

Application should include:

  • Cover letter from the nominator detailing: 
    • What makes the individual’s teaching innovative and creative.
      • Tools, technology and approaches, etc.
    • Tangible outcomes that showcase the impact of the innovative teaching.
    • Beneficiaries of the innovative teaching.
      • Students, colleagues, campus-at-large, community, etc.
  • Include three (3) letters of support and/or “artifacts” that highlight their innovative teaching skills. . Examples should speak to a broader pattern or innovativeness in the classroom. But artifacts alone should not be the central focus of the application. Nomination should address innovative achievements over the first decade.
    • Ideally at least one from a student
  • Share 2-4 innovative class assignments from the past two years.
  • Share any evidence of the impact of the innovativeness of the teaching methods. (e.g. awards, analytics, sales, grants, etc.)
