November 15 – December 15<\/strong><\/td>\nThe Dr. Marjorie Yambor Signature Station Competition<\/a> <\/strong>is sponsored by BEA\u2019s Student Media Advisors division.\u00a0 The competition invites submissions of superior protocol and practices at student-run, faculty-advised college radio and television stations.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
December 15<\/strong><\/td>\nBroadcast Historian Award<\/a><\/strong> is a partnership between the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) and BEA. Each year the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) and BEA present the Broadcast Historian Awards. With the support of LABF, BEA annually two $2,500 awards:
\u2013\u00a0Broadcast Historian Book Award<\/strong>\u00a0to an educator who has published a book specifically related to broadcast\/media history.
\u2013\u00a0Broadcast Historian Creative Award<\/strong>\u00a0to an educator who has produced a documentary\/multimedia project.<\/td>\n		\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
December 15<\/strong><\/td>\nThe Leibner Cooper Grant for Creative Productions on the History of Media Grant<\/a> <\/strong>awards a $2,500 grant to a faculty member who is producing a documentary, news story, multimedia project or production focused on historical issues, figures and\/or events related to media.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

January 15<\/strong><\/td>\nDistinguished Education Service Award (DESA)<\/strong><\/a> is awarded\u00a0to an individual who has made significant and lasting contributions to the American system of electronic media education by a singular achievement or continuing service of electronic media education.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 15<\/strong><\/td>\nLifetime Achievement in Scholarship<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0nominees should have made a significant contribution to research and scholarship involving broadcast and electronic media. Contributions should be evidenced by related publication in books and journals, over at least twenty years.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 15<\/strong><\/td>\nNew Faculty Research Grant<\/strong> <\/a>(NFRG) seeks to promote scholarship through achievement by untenured broadcast and electronic media faculty. Every year a cash grant of $1,000 is awarded for research projects.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 15<\/strong><\/td>\nKenneth Harwood Outstanding Dissertation Award<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0offers $1,000 for the outstanding Ph.D. dissertation in broadcasting and electronic media. The award was established through gifts started by Professor Kenneth Harwood and donations from friends of BEA.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 15<\/strong><\/td>\nBEA Research Grant<\/a><\/strong> – BEA will award grants ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 to support research projects on topics that align with the overall mission of BEA.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 2023<\/strong><\/td>\nBEA Audio Shorts Competition<\/strong><\/a> invites BEA Student Media Club Members to create compelling audio stories in 48-hours during a weekend in Mar \u2013 #BEAshortdocs.<\/strong><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
