This “Giving Tuesday,” BEA is giving TIME, MONEY and #BEAccolades!

BEA is giving you time by extending the December 1st paper competition deadlines to 11:59 ET on Monday, December 3rd.  Remember, BEA GIVES monetary prizes to many of the top papers, so use that extra weekend wisely to edit and make those perfect finishing touches.  Click on the Research tab on the top of the #BEAvegas website to view the calls for the BEA2018 paper competitions and the Big Data and Media Research Symposium.

BEA is giving money through our scholarships. Nine students from seven different campuses were awarded scholarships in BEA’s 2018-2019 competition.  The winners were selected by the BEA Scholarship Committee, chaired by Pete Orlik, at its November meeting in Washington, DC.

BEA is giving members #BEAccolades for a job well done!  We’re starting an on-going campaign called #BEAccolades to pat our members on the back.  If you or one of your colleagues has done something that deserves recognition – granted tenure, written a book, completed a documentary — tell us and we’ll spread the word through the BEA website and social media!  Click here to submit your #BEAccolades.

We’re asking BEA members to give time as we seek scholarly and creative competition reviewers.  If you are interested in reading papers, please consider getting in touch with one of our BEA Interest Division paper chairs, our Big Data Research Symposium Chair Don Grady, or our Research-in-Progress Chair Thom Baggerman.  If your blood runs thick with creative juices, reach out to one of our Festival of Media Arts chairs.  Simply scroll through the list of competition chairs and offer to help review the Festival’s creative submissions. But if you would rather give a donation, we have several wonderful initiatives.
