A Guide to BEA Connect
BEA Connect is a new social media component to BEAweb.org that launches soon. Below we have some information of some of the key components. If you have any questions or issues please contact J-D Boyle.
your Profile
What is it about you?
In PROFILE you can post pictures, resources, and contact information for others to view. Since your record is connected to BEA's membership database, there is no need to duplicate information. In addition, anything you update in your PROFILE will automatically update our membership database.
Groups
Join the dialogue!
Interest Divisions, Geographic Districts, the Annual Convention…. are examples of GROUPS made and open for you to join and be part of the exchange. If you need a new panelist for BEA2012 post it here (you can even check out the qualifications of the perspective panelist). When BEA2012 is over this is also a great way to continue the dialog for the next convention.
Resources
Post and Exchange Information
Have you ever wished you could easily share research you presented at the annual convention? Or needed to borrow a lesson plan for your sports production class? In the RESOURCES section of BEA Connect, you can. Members can post any data or information you want to share with the entire BEA community. Post files, links, or even create a live-doc.
Organizations
BEA's Institutional and Corporate Members
BEA connect also allows Institutional and Corporate Members to create their own pages. ORGANIZATIONS can
announce upcoming seminars they are hosting or awards they received and share those with the BEA community.
Membership Directory
An Easy Way to Locate a Member, Institution, or Company
Just like the MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY at BEAweb.org but… better!! This robust directory will let you search by terms or keywords located in member profiles. Looking for a member whose name you forgot but remember that he worked on the festival last year and likes sports, oh look there is Ken Fischer.
Promotion & recommendations
Let Your Work, Work for You
Use BEA Connect as a resource to help advance your career. Use the resource section of BEA Connect for PROMOTION:
to post your resume, research, convention program participation and awards received. Students can
post creative endeavors or projects to start a portfolio to help get that first job or an internship. Other community members can leave RECOMMENDATIONS regarding fellow members.
